Last week, actress Garcelle Beauvais, best known for her
role on The Jamie Foxx Show spoke candidly with the blog Hello Beautiful,
explaining what it takes to maintain sex symbol status in Hollywood. In the
midst of this, however, Garcelle mentioned a fine line between being
sexy and trashy - Beyonce was used as an example, and the BeyHive wasn't
too happy.
“For me, you’re obviously flattered when someone calls you sexy or thinks you’re sexy,” she said. “I think that’s great. But, for me now, there’s so many ways to be sexy without being overt about it. I think you can wear a great short dress, but if you have long sleeves and you’re only showing leg.”
Garcelle then used Beyoncé as an example, and did not hesitate to share her thoughts on the singer's recent proactive image over
the last few months.
“I love Beyonce. I love her,” said the 47-year-old actress. “I think she’s beautiful and talented. But I think there has to be a fine line where you have to take responsibility for what you do. I think it’s good to be sexy, but sexy can come across in so many different ways. It doesn’t have to be everything showing out grinding, all of the time.”
As soon as the Beyhive was made aware of Garcelle’s
comments they went IN, posting revealing pictures of the actress, exposing her
as a hypocrite. Though, Ms. Beauvais did take to twitter to explain that
her comments about Beyonce were indeed taken out of context:
Of course to the BeyHive, Queen B is always exempt from any criticism, of any form, but apparently Garcelle either didn’t care or was never told.
