A young African American boy, by the name of Ronald McNair had big dreams of becoming an astronaut one day, and by 1984, he achieved just that - becoming the second African American to fly into space.

On January 28, 1986 however, Dr. McNair tragically died while on the Challenger mission, which exploded seconds after takeoff. Although sad, as you watch the animation, which was narrated by Ronald's brother, you’ll begin to see how truly inspiring Ronald McNair’s journey actually was - especially having to grow up as a young, black boy during a time of great racial divide.
